South Yarra House

First stage completed 2003
Second stage completed 2009

The expansion and reworking of a large Victorian era home was planned around the insertion of a large sky lit interior court centered above the stair. The new extension creates a large family living area, opening out to the rear courtyard at ground level, with the children’s bedrooms above. The rear facade is conceived as a curtain wall with operable timber louvres to allow ventilation and control light.
